Will you call me? I won't pick up, but at least I'll know you care.

How will you know it was me?

Well, you think I don't have caller id?!!

I want to focus on descriptions of schools. This was my idea before. But now I think it makes a lot of sense for a few reasons. First, nearly all people I associate with now in life have been through a lot of school and intimately understand its purpose, structure, and possible problems. Students especially must be really invested in their educational experience because of the cost of both money and time. Professors know a lot about schools because they have had to go through so many and actually decide, for some reason, that they want to continue to be part of such a system for their working life. Second, I've personally been really interested in schools in an active way because I transferred from Macalester to RISD. Also, when I applied the first time, I visited a lot of schools and applied to about a dozen. The idea of picking a school was and still is romantic and idealistic in that you can choose a manner in which to mold your mind, I guess. A school is a factory in a sense where people come in one way and come out another that is usually prescribed. This doesn't have to be negative though. Also, in choosing a school, you choose the type of people to surround yourself with. Hopefully, you think, you will learn from your peers in addition to the formal teaching. Certain schools attract and some even only let in a certain type of student. In theory, you come to learn in a structured environment, but really you are doing much more, much of which goes unnoticed. By doing these short descriptions, I will present a variety of schools (some imaginary and some more "real") in order to unveil unnoticed aspects in a surprising, perhaps satirical way. The end.
