This might be the worst thing ever, but lately I've been making sure I don't say anything offensive to anyone online by first making my computer speak my typed words. I picked the "Princess" voice from the mac defaults, the one who says "When I grow up, I want to be a scientist." This helps me look at what I've just said objectively, as if the computer is saying it.
